What we’re doing to be part of the solution.

As a leading food and beverage company, we are deeply concerned about the impact of climate change on agriculture and food production, and the knock-on effect for our business and the communities we operate in. We understand that collective action is the only way to address this very real issue, and have been encouraged by the overwhelming global support for the Paris Agreement.

The Agreement, which came into force in 2016, sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to limit global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels. With our main production operations in Australia and New Zealand, we are pleased that both Governments have ratified the Agreement.

Climate change affects us all, and we have chosen to be a part of the solution to reduce carbon emissions from our operations. So we have adopted a Science Based Target (SBT) to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions from our operations by 30% by 2026 from our FY15 levels.

We are committed to reducing our carbon emissions at Lion. As new technologies emerge and become commercially viable, we will continue to implement cost-effective and practical opportunities for achieving our climate change goals.
