Ensuring we have diverse and inclusive teams is not only the right thing to do, it also increases diversity of thinking. This helps us grow as a business, while positively shaping our culture.

That’s why we’re delighted to have been awarded citation as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality in 2018 by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency in Australia. The accolade is designed to recognise, encourage and promote an active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.

One of only a small number of food and beverage companies on the 2018 list, we are proud that our gender equality initiatives have been recognised.

We have publicly committed to an ambitious gender diversity target of a 50:50 split by 2026. Helping us achieve this are our new Inclusion & Diversity and Families at Lion policies, as well as our ongoing Lion Flex policy. We have also developed of a number of programs to encourage women to work at our manufacturing sites and breweries and taken a more public stance on how and why gender equity is critical to Lion.

We are committed to working hard to ensure we continue to meet our own gender diversity ambitions, as well as the criteria set by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency each year.
